Travel in Australia

It’s likely that the only things that come to mind when one thinks of Australia are kangaroos, venomous spiders, and crocodiles, but there is so much more to see when traveling across this magnificent continent. This ancient land mass is a cornucopia of sights and experiences unlike any other, and those who have the wanderlust for travel have to include Australia in their scrapbook of memories.

From the expansive white beaches of western Australia to the Surfer’s Paradise on the Gold Coast to the east, this land is filled with fantastic panoramas and peopled with some of the most fascinating and endearing folks to be found anywhere in the world. The variety of flora, fauna, and geographical wonders will astound and amaze even the most seasoned of travelers. Few other nations can boast the incredible variety of deserts, waterways, forests, and marine habitats that make up this bountiful land.

The prehistoric gorges of Kakadu National Park offers 300 square kilometers of natural beauty, such as the waterfalls that tumble gracefully and powerfully over rock that has existed for thousands of millions of years. Cave drawings reveal the stories of giant roos that once populated this region, feasting on prehistoric insects and plants whose offspring continue to inhabit this incredible area.

The red sands of the Uluru National Park are one of the many areas that hold a special spiritual significance for the native Anangu, more familiarly known as the Aborigine people. This is understandable when taking one of the walks that are guided by an Anangu, offering an insight to the underlying beauty and power of the Rock.

Perhaps the most famous area of Australia, next to the tourist-friendly city of Sydney, is that vast expanse of seemingly unconquerable land known as the Outback. This stupendous stretch of wild land is home to crocs, roos, koalas, and a whole host of birds that stagger the mind with their color and character. Those who want some adventure in their travel will find an unforgettable and unique opportunity awaiting in this challenging country, and a walkabout will leave even the most seasoned hiker exhausted and exhilarated.

The ancient forests of Tasmania and the aquatic wonders of the Great Barrier Reef offer some of the most amazing and unforgettable vistas one can find when they travel. And aquatic wonders are plentiful in Australia, including the variety of ocean life at Whitsunday Islands in Queensland and Ningaloo Reef in WA. The great white sharks, the giant sea turtles, and those fun-loving and endearing dolphins will keep the divers enthralled for hours, days, and weeks.

Of course, city life is alive and well in Australia. Travel to Melbourne for one of the most diverse and multicultural experiences to be found anywhere on the planet, or spend the travel days taking in the white sails of the Opera House and the vibrant entertainment areas of Sydney and the most excellent surfing along the Gold Coast. Or learn a little something about the history of Australian cricket in Cootamundra, birthplace of Sir Donald George Bradman, one of the greatest batsmen of all time.

Travel in Australia will thrill, amaze, and defy the imagination of anyone who feels they have “seen it all”, and the wealth of experiences to be had here will live in the memories of all who visit the Land Down Under.
