Things You Can Do in Jaipur

There are numerous things you will notice about Jaipur one of the major and the most distinct one is the city walls are all colored in pink. That is the reason why this city is famously quoted as the Pink City.

Jaipur is the state capital of Rajasthan, this city also forms a triangle with Agra and New Delhi as the other two corners of triangle, why I am pointing out is because most tourists come on Planned Tours and they always have a triangle corridor tour which takes you through these cities and their historic monuments.

Jaipur is roughly 250kms away from New Delhi and the National Highway 8 joins the two cities by road. There are plenty of trains, buses and airlines which connects them 24 hrs a day so if you plan to visit there wont be any issues with the schedules.

There are lots of things you can do in Jaipur, I would summarize them briefly below:

1. Camel Riding / Elephant Riding Camel Riding can be done at various places, one of them being Chokhi Dhani which is a village type setup just 20 kms from Jaipur main city. Elephant Rides can be done at Amber Fort which is just 5kms from the main Jaipur city
2. Rajasthani Traditional Food There are various hotels and restaurants where the rajasthan food is served. Infact all the 5 star hotels arranges traditional food available for tourists.
3. Forts Seeing There are plenty of forts as Amber, Nahargarh, Jaigarh,etc which are very near to the main Jaipur city. The history monuments are definitely a sight seeing wonder.
4. Shopping There are many things you could look forward to shop in Jaipur as blankets for cold are world famous, then leather wear and handicrafts. Also Jaipur jewellers are famous for their craftmanship.
